WEST KAUAI BEACHES
Polihale State Park: Located on the west side of Kauai is the
beautiful Polihale State Park. There is a long stretch of beach, which allows perfect
solitude.
Kekaeha Beach Park: This beach is also a long stretch of beautiful white sand and is
popular with boogie boarders and surfers.
Pakala Beach: This beautiful area is between Waimea and Hanapepe and provides great
swimming with a soft white sand beach for sunbathing.
Salt Pond Beach: Probably one of the more popular beaches on the west side. This beach
provides excellent swimming and fantastic views.
NORTH KAUAI BEACHES
Kauapea Beach: This beach is also known as "Secret Beach"
and is a clothing optional beach. As with all nude beaches in Hawaii, you must walk in
from a trail. The beach is beautiful and the swimming is excellent.
Anini Beach: This is a very large beach area with full facilities and an excellent
swimming and snorkeling area when conditions permit.
Hanalei Bay: This is truly one of Hawaii's gems, with excellent swimming conditions
and views that can only be described as spectacular.
Lumaha`i Beach: This beach could possibly be one of the most well known beaches in the
world, as this is where the famous beach scene from the movie South Pacific was filmed.
The beach is accessed by a trail and the views are breathtaking.
Ha`ena Beach Park: Located west of Hanalei, this beach offers facilities and the
swimming is great when conditions permit.
Ke`e Beach: This is the last beach on the north side and offers excellent snorkeling
and swimming.
SOUTH KAUAI BEACHES
Poipu Beach Park: This is a very popular beach and offers full
facilities. The beach is located in the heart of Poipu and offers everything one could
need for a day at the beach.
Brennecke Beach: This beach is located in front of several resort developments and
offers beautiful scenery and easy access.
Shipwreck Beach: As with most south shore beaches, the surf is good in the summertime
here. This beach is also a great place to watch windsurfing.
EAST KAUAI BEACHES
Kalapaki Beach: This beach is in a bay where the Kauai Marriott is
located. It provides excellent swimming and full facilities.
Hanama`ulu Beach Park: The park is popular with swimmers and families spending the
weekend. The park offers facilities and easy access.
Lydgate State Park: Great place to spend a day or weekend with the family. The beach
offers full facilities and good swimming areas.
Wailua Beach: Popular with surfers and when conditions are right the swimming is good.
The beach offers easy access and facilities.
Kapa`a Beach Park: This is also a popular beach for families on the west side. The
area is good for swimming and offers full facilities.
Anahola Beach Park: Great family beach offering easy access and facilities.
When visiting any of the Hawaii beaches it is very important to
understand that the Ocean can be very dangerous and caution should be used at all times.
If you are new to the area and see a life guard station, take a few minutes and talk to
the professionals about conditions and ask what would be a safe area to swim in. Hawaii is
a beautiful place and we do hope that visitors and residents enjoy their time at the beach
