Na Pali Coast: Located on the northwest side of Kauai
are some of the most formidable cliffs in Hawaii. The Na Pali Coast is stunning, with it's
majestic peaks rising 3,000 feet from the ocean and the lush tropical valleys that
encompass the coast. The Na Pali coast can only be viewed by air or sea, making this
a true hidden paradise.
North Kauai:
Located on the north side of Kauai are
the tropical towns of Hanalei and Princeville. Hanalei is a peaceful town with summer
homes and vacation rentals. The Hanalei valley provides splendid scenery, with its
taro patches, lush valleys and emerald green mountains. The Hanalei River runs through the
valley providing an excellent backdrop for photographs. Adjacent to Hanalei is the
equally peaceful town of Princeville. The small resort community of Princeville
offers a laid back lifestyle with several of the islands best golf courses.
Wailua River State Park: The east side of Kauai is
home to several scenic locations, which include the Holo-Ku Heiau, Fern Grotto and
Kaumualii Park. In the backdrop you will also see two of Kauai's magnificent
waterfalls, Opaekaa Falls and Wailua Falls.
South Kauai: The south side of Kauai offers several great
locations for sightseeing. Poipu is the resort area on the south side and offers
some splendid beaches and swimming areas. Koloa is just north of Poipu and is laid
back and tranquil with several historical buildings. To the west of Poipu you will come
across one of Kauai`s favorite spots, Spouting Horn. Further west will bring you to
the scenic town of Hanapepe. The valley is filled with lush tropical scenery with
the Hanapepe river flowing through it.
Waimea Canyon: Located on the west side of Kauai is the
Kokee State Park, which is home to Hawaii`s "Grand Canyon", Waimea Canyon.
The canyon rises over 3,000 feet with lush vegetation and the Waimea River draping
the canyon floor. Gazing across the shimmering red volcanic formations, you will
notice spectacular waterfalls and breathtaking scenery. |
